// In Stock was conceived as a reading lounge showcasing recently published and forthcoming books, research papers, and other scholarly work produced by Weitzman faculty. The exhibition sought to make faculty research more accessible and approachable, transforming the conventional display of academic publications into an informal environment for browsing, reading, and discovery. The installation was organized around two complementary modes of engagement: a traditional bookshelf and a reading wall conceived as an analog blog. Rather than presenting research as a fixed collection of finished publications, the wall invited visitors to browse, select, and physically remove individual articles and papers for reading. This arrangement translated the immediacy and accessibility of digital publishing into a tactile, spatial experience, encouraging visitors to engage with research through curiosity and informal exploration.

Constructed entirely from readily available building materials and hardware, the installation employed plywood, oriented strand board, pegboard, dimensional lumber, clamps, and straps as both structural and organizational elements. These components were deliberately left exposed, emphasizing their provisional character and the logic of their assembly. Rather than concealing the means of construction, the design foregrounded the individual parts and connections through which the exhibition was made. This material approach reflected the exhibition's broader understanding of research and creative production as an ongoing process of assembly, revision, and discovery. Just as the installation remained visibly composed of a kit of readily available parts, the publications it displayed represented moments within larger, continually evolving bodies of work. By drawing a parallel between the construction of the exhibition and the production of knowledge, In Stock positioned even the most resolved scholarly output as part of an ongoing work in progress.
