// “The Serlio Code investigates the drawings of Italian Mannerist architect Sebastiano Serlio through the lens of artificial intelligence. As a demonstration of experimental design research, parallels are identified between Serlio’s representational codes and AI information processing. The exhibited artifacts result from recursive computational procedures that return Serlio’s illustrations to altered object status. New technological insights suggest a significant disciplinary realignment regarding the discourses of language and drawing. The Serlio Code introduces alternative modes of perception and alludes to new forms of expression yet to be discovered.”
