// This new construction townhome development in the “Duck Island” neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, aims to revitalize a neighborhood that has previously suffered from a long period of decline and de-densification following the Rust Belt’s rapid deindustrialization. Inspired by the repetitive yet intimate scale of late 19th-century townhomes found in most major East Coast cities, this development investigates and interpolates common residential streetscape archetypes such as “porch,” “stoop,” “bay,” and “awning.” Utilizing a minimal color and material palette, as well as formal architectural massing strategies, the development aims to be both of the neighborhood and distinctly contemporary.
